Struggling to sync drayage slots with departures

Last night at the Memphis ramp we had a 17:00 drayage appointment, 18:00 cutoff, actual in-gate 18:45, and the 19:10 intermodal departed without that block, blowing the lineup and crew hours downstream. Anyone solving this with dynamic re-slotting or tighter buffers off port API feeds without tanking velocity?

Pulling truck GPS or just port APIs? Trigger a 10–15 minute hold if ‘18:45 in-gate’ ETA >80%.

Skip the blanket hold — use a dynamic soft cutoff plus a prebuilt swing block: if the 18:45 in‑gate probability for the 19:10 is <85%, auto re-slot that block to the next departure and pull the swing block forward; only trigger a 6–8 min micro‑hold when ‘block‑complete by 19:00’ clears 85%. @omartinez are you combining ELD pings with gate OCR at MEM, or just port APIs?

We’ve had better luck keying decisions off carrier ELD pings via project44/FourKites instead of the appointment; once the ETA crosses a “12‑minute grace band,” auto re-slot that block to the next departure, pull a pre-cleared filler from yard inventory, and text the driver a gate fast-pass so they can bypass the queue when they land. Just watch for gate OCR lag at Memphis and tune the band per ramp so you don’t whipsaw velocity; do you have ELD access or only gate timestamps, @anna673?
