We’re shifting from a monthly wall-to-wall to daily ABC counts (20 locations per zone, RF scanners) starting Jan 8 to hit 99.5% accuracy. Plan is to cross-train receiving and have two pickers peel off 9–10 a.m., but I want to avoid starving the floor during the first wave — how are you covering counts without stacking overtime?
We fold counts into launch by using a “count-before-pick” prompt on the first wave: first touch on a slot verifies qty, and only variances trigger a quick recount by receiving during truck lulls — sneak the veggies into the pasta sauce. To “avoid starving the floor,” cap it at two verifications per picker and exclude hot lanes so throughput isn’t dinged. Does your WMS support a count-before-pick step or task interleaving?
